Spectrum Router Login

Access your Spectrum (Charter) router or modem to change WiFi password, manage devices, and configure network settings. Use the My Spectrum app (recommended) or login via web interface.

Tip: Newer Spectrum routers have a unique password printed on the router label. Look for "Admin Password" or "Router Password".

My Spectrum App (Easiest)

The recommended way to manage your Spectrum WiFi:

  1. Download My Spectrum app (iOS/Android)
  2. Sign in with your Spectrum account
  3. Tap ServicesInternet
  4. Tap Manage Network
  5. Change WiFi name, password, and more

Web Login (192.168.1.1)

  1. Connect to your Spectrum WiFi or ethernet
  2. Open web browser
  3. Type http://192.168.1.1 in address bar
  4. Enter username and password
  5. Click Login

Change WiFi Password

Via My Spectrum App

  1. Open My Spectrum app
  2. Go to ServicesInternet
  3. Tap Manage Network
  4. Tap WiFi Network Name & Password
  5. Edit password and tap Save

Via Web Interface

  1. Login to 192.168.1.1
  2. Go to Wireless or WiFi Settings
  3. Find Security or Password
  4. Enter new password
  5. Click Apply or Save

  • WiFi Name (SSID) — Change network name
  • WiFi Password — Set new wireless password
  • Guest Network — Separate WiFi for visitors
  • WiFi Band — 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz settings
  • Channel Selection — Change to reduce interference

  • Parental Controls — Block content, set schedules
  • Port Forwarding — For gaming and servers

Using Your Own Router

You can use your own router with Spectrum:

  1. Return Spectrum's WiFi router (saves $5/month)
  2. Keep just the modem (or buy your own approved modem)
  3. Connect your router to the modem via ethernet
  4. Configure your router as normal

Check Spectrum's approved modem list before purchasing.

Troubleshooting

Restart Equipment

  1. Unplug modem power cord
  2. If separate router, unplug it too
  3. Wait 60 seconds
  4. Plug modem back in, wait for lights
  5. Plug router back in
  6. Wait 2-3 minutes for connection

Factory Reset

  1. Find reset button (pinhole on back)
  2. Press and hold with paperclip for 15 seconds
  3. Wait for router to restart
  4. Login with default credentials
